Grace Street Men cordially invite all Grace Street Ladies to a special evening of dinner and entertainment on Friday evening, February 12th, 7:00 p.m., at the Lockwood Center. Signups begin this Sunday, January 31st, after church.Simply elegant
Promptly at 7:00, the men will usher all Grace Street ladies into the Lockwood Center gym, unrecognizable, because it will have been transformed into a beautifully decorated restaurant. The ambiance is simply elegant, and the transformation almost unbelievable. The soft lighting on the walls along with the candles flickering at the tables, and the relaxing, uplifting music, sets the mood for the evening. We believe that even some of the Grace Street men will look good in this lighting.
An Extravagant Meal
A few of the Grace Street men have spent some time designing the meal for this special night of dinner and entertainment. Nothing about it is “thrown together.” The highest quality ingredients are specially selected and purchased in advance, and sifted tenderly together by some of our finest chefs.
These experienced and highly skilled cooks will have spent hours in the kitchen getting the food ready. Salads, and excellent main course, and then afterwards, a delicious dessert. You won’t have to worry about the calories either. Remember what our pastor always says, “If you eat it at church, then it doesn’t have any calories in it. We know that isn’t true, but come enjoy this meal anyway.
At Your Service
Are you tired of having to buy the food, straighten the house, cook the meals, and then clean up afterwards – just before you get the kids to bed? Does it seem as if you are always “lifting the load alone?” Come to this “Ladies’ Appreciation Night,” and let someone else do the work for a change. You won’t have to lift a finger – except to call over your personal waiter for whatever else it is that you need with your meal. Would you like sweet tea, or regular? What kind of dressing would you like for your salad? You just sit right there, and one of our “highly-trained” wait staff will be right back with exactly what you need. Sit back and relax. You certainly deserve it!
Entertainment par Excellence’
After dinner, the men will treat you to some creative, uplifting entertainment. Several of the men have formed a band, and they will regale the ladies with some beautiful music. They have been working for quite some time to put this together, and you won’t be disappointed. There will be several other forms of entertainment as well, including a grand finale. Since we don’t officially dance in church, we’ll just call this “creative movement.” 🙂 Your spirit will be lifted by the beauty of these moments, and by the energy of men dedicated to making this a fun evening for you. We hope that this evening brings you a smile or two along the way.
A Long Tradition
We have been celebrating this evening together, honoring Grace Street Ladies, for the past 15 years. Every one of these evenings has ended with a reading and recitation of 1 Corinthians 13, the love chapter, and a concluding challenge for this kind of appreciation to be expressed all night long, not just on one evening of the year.
Sign-Ups Start This Sunday
Starting this Sunday, you can sign up for this banquet. If you forget to sign up, or have something change that allows you to attend at the last minute, of course you can still come. However, if you can sign up in advance, that really helps us know how much food to prepare. Let us know if you will need childcare for the evening. This helps us know how many workers we need to have ready.
