Parent’s Night Off – This Friday

Parent's Night Off March 2016You deserve a break today!

Has there ever been a time when parenting is more time consuming than it is today? Perhaps so, but it sure doesn’t seem like it, does it?  Parents are always on the move from homework to sports, and all kinds of school, church, and other social activities. Whew!  It doesn’t seem like there is much time for parents just to enjoy being adults, and having time to themselves.

We have good news for you!

Grace Street has some good news for you in these busy times. This Friday night, June 10th, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., a fabulous group of adults, led by our children’s ministry, will be in the Lockwood Center, ready to take care of your children for a few hours.  We will feed them, play games, and generally let them hang out, all so that you can get some time back to do whatever it is that you need to do – get caught up on the chores at home, catch a movie, a dinner, or just some time to do nothing.  We believe you deserve it, and we’re here to help.

Brought to you by the Children’s Ministry

Why do we do this?  Well, we love the children God has given us, and we love being with them.  It will be a fun night for them, of course, but we will also use the time to teach them more about the Lord.  In a way, it’s a babysitting service for you, but in another way, this isn’t babysitting at all, but time for us to invest in your children spiritually.  We want them to see that loving and serving the Lord can truly be fun.

Another important reason we do this, however, is because we believe that God has ordained the family.  We see our role in church life as supporting you as you lead and love your family.  Anything we can do to help – like providing you with a night off – is a blessing to us – and a part of fulfilling God’s purpose for our church.  We’re pumped about it.

What does it cost?

This is the cool part.  What does it cost these days to get someone to watch your children? Often, it is more than most couples can afford, or more than they want to pay.  This night is provided to you absolutely free, because the church is covering all costs to provide this night for you.  We couldn’t be more blessed to do it.

A look into the future

We are a disciple making church, always with an eye to the future.  How beautiful it will be one day, when the very children being loved now by the church will be the ones leading the church to love the next generation of children coming along.  Jesus said to his disciples “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.”

Let the children come.  We’ll see you Friday Night. Contact Caitlin if you have questions about details.
